When hearing from people who are not fond of dogs, the first thing that they always complain about is dog poo, funny thing is I think all of us want exactly the same thing - not to be faced with it! We want everyone to pick up after their dogs...end of. Sure we can all complain about "they should all pick up their own dogs", but where has that argument got us in the past...nowhere, it just builds further resentment from the other side.
What if each of us responsible dog people went out with an agenda in mind - pick up one deposit of dog poo from another dog that was left behind - just one? I recently did it for a large dog who's owner was struggling with mobility, it was huge, it was warm and I was hoping my gag reflex would not happen! Guess what I did it, and survived.
So now when I go out I look for a pile, just one, to reach my quota. I am thankful to every single person who also does this, you are making our part of the world a better place, and giving those who do not have a dog, a better perspective.

Objections are not necessarily from "... people who are not fond of dogs". MANY dog guardians do not appreciate dogs with no manners, lazy owners & no recall in place. Is this advocacy going to be a costly attempt to support lazy, inconsiderate dog owners? I'm a dog owner & a dog lover. Happy to support access & amenities - not bad behaviour though.
Deb Swadling, I totally agree with you! Our Advocacy doesn't cost anything, just my time and your support. We will run petitions and other things that will hopefully show council (or govt) that we are united in what we want and are not asking for too much. Open to any suggestions.
